Erosive arthritis
Severely enlarged soft-tissue shadow and multiple erosions of the subchondral bone do not (necessarily) indicate tumor.
In erosive arthritis, in addition to an inflammatory joint effusion, there are defects (erosions) in the subchondral bone.
Carpus and tarsus are most commonly affected, but other joints can be affected as well. Usually multiple joints are affected.
Septic processes (bacterial or fungal), rheumatism, or leishmaniasis are possible causes
In the present case, changes were found in the carpus and metacarpophalangeal joints of both forelimbs, in both ankle joints and in the stifle joints.
