Hello, I hope someone is able to help me with this case
I had a 6 months old intact male rabbit in for a check up recently. The owner got him and his brother from a breeder just a couple of days before and had noticed right away that something was up with one of his eyes. No other symptoms or remarks on the check up, both rabbits appear healthy and active. I suspect uveitis (phacoclastic?) as the IOP on this eye was low (< 10). There appears to be white/pinkish nodules on the iris as well as dyscoria and some episcleral congestion (both not visible on the photo). No corneal ulcers. Sadly I only got one picture as the others didnt turn out so great, I plan to take more.
Blood was analysed for E.cuniculi (IFAT) at Laboklin where IgM was within reference value <1:80, while IgG was 1:1280 which is high. I understand that a titer of 1:80 or higher is indicative for a prevous infection or a chronic/latent infection?
How should I approach this eye? Is removal the only option? (it does not appear to be painful, but you know, rabbit...). Is it a possibility that the symptoms of the eye is a result of an infection with E. cuniculi even though there are no other symptoms as the titer was high? The owner is very dedicated.
