A three-month-old domestic short-hair cat was referred for an MRI due to left-side head tilt. The following are the results of the MRI:
The left middle ear has been occupied by a mass with the brain grey matter-like signal and the size of 18*12.6*7.1 mm (First Image) after filling the full space of the left middle ear the mass traverse into the left tympanic bulla and which is now filled with fluid (Second Image). Furthermore, a high signal mass is observed in the caudal part of the left nasal cavity and the left frontal sinus is also fluid-filled (Third Image). There is no obvious finding which is consistent with the destruction of ossicles and cochlea.
MRI findings are compatible with: Cholesteatoma and Inflammatory Process of Sinus & Tympanic Bulla.
