This patient (8 yrs American Stafford,MC) had an infected ulcerated nodule. The owner chose to remove without cytology. A colleque operated the dog and took the nodule a way with 1.5 cm margins. The dog came back to me because the owner saw a new 'inflammatory nodule'. It turned out that more nodules were growing, also at the scar of the removed nodule.
Cytology confirmed my suspicion -> many mastcells, some had no granules at all. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis, bi- and multiple nucleation, regular mitotic figures.
